We extend our sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the organization of the conference, including academic stakeholders, industry representatives, and all participants. As the Cognitive Ergonomics Research Laboratory of Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Maritime Faculty, we reaffirm our dedication to advancing the maritime field. In particular, we remain committed to conducting human-centered research aimed at fostering a sustainable working environment within the sector.
At this prestigious international congress, we successfully presented five valuable studies conducted within our laboratory, each designed to address current needs in the maritime industry:
- Women in the Maritime Industry
- Comparing the Fatigue Levels Between Maritime Faculty Students and Other Students with Student’s t-Hypothesis Test
- The Relationship between Workload, Work Stress, and Burnout in Masters and Deck Officers
- Classification Analysis for Studied Fields in Maritime
- Optimization Model in Ro-Ro Vessel Operation
Through these papers, we aimed not only to enrich the scientific body of knowledge in maritime cognitive ergonomics but also to contribute to the development of more effective, sustainable, and human-centered operational processes. Moreover, we sought to highlight the roles and contributions of women in the maritime sector.
This congress served as a valuable platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between international stakeholders, offering a strong interaction between academia and industry.
We would like to sincerely thank all contributors, participants from both academic and industrial spheres, and all stakeholders for their support and interest in this meaningful event. We sincerely hope that our presentations will contribute to building a safer, more efficient, and more human-centered future in maritime practice. Furthermore, we wholeheartedly support the continuation and growth of such scientific events that promote interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative approaches.
